PTA

We have a very hard working and dedicated PTA at Picknalls who raise funds to improve the lives of our pupils.  They always welcome your support, no matter how small, and membership is open to all.

The PTA commits itself to support projects that reflect the interests and wide diversity existing within the school community, continually enhancing the experience of all the pupils. We can only do this to the best of our ability with help and enthusiasm from new parents. We warmly invite anyone to join the committee – it is very informal and sociable!

We are also always keen to encourage more parents to participate in helping to plan and assist at events. New people bring new opinions and generate new ideas.

There will be refreshments served throughout the day but please do feel free to bring along your own picnic lunch.

This event has very kindly been sponsored by TopCashBack. Below is some information from them to advise how you can save money on all of your online shopping...

“Saving money on everyday goods and services and even luxuries, is at the top of everyone’s agenda. Cashback is a great way of saving money whenever you shop online or even in-store. But what is ‘cashback’? If you need to buy something online or you’re in the market for car or home insurance for example you can receive cashback by visiting TopCashback.co.uk first, rather than going direct to the retailer. TopCashback’s active members earn on average £350 per year in cashback with some earning even more. Simply visit TopCashback.co.uk and join today’’

We look forward to seeing you all on the 8th.

Many thanks,

Heather Forrester

Barefoot Walk of Madness

The staff and PTA of Picknalls First School are pleased to say their sponsored Barefoot Walk was a great success.  Thanks to a lovely sunny day and lots of well-wishers, along with a miraculous lack of injury and despite some very confused looks along the way, the four members of PTA and staff arrived safely back at school as planned, after walking 8 miles without shoes through Uttoxeter, Bramshall and Stramshall this Saturday.  School Nursery and Early Years staff were there to chat with parents and future nursery children as well as to greet the weary walkers after Picknalls Nursery held its open morning in conjunction with the fundraiser for new carpets and décor in Early Years .

The estimated sponsorship raised so far is in excess of £900, and the Just Giving page remains open for anyone wishing to contribute.  Picknalls PTA would very much like to thank all those who have supported them and continue to do so in this project.

Nursery Governor James Russell said “We are very grateful to the PTA for their support in improving further the environment of our school and thank the people involved for baring their soles in a good cause! We know that children who come to our Nursery continue to do well as they progress through into Early Years and continue to welcome any interested parents to come and look around to better understand how their child may benefit from this excellent facility in our school.”

If you would like to sponsor them or donate towards this worthy cause please visit their Just Giving page or text FEET08 followed by the amount donated in £'s to 70070.  You can find more details by visiting the PTA's Facebook page too.
