Reading Books
Reading books at home is a part of your child's homework and is valuable to their progression. Please can reading books be brought to school everyday. We will endeavor to change your child's books once a week but will take every opportunity to hear them read. We would really appreciate it if you could support you child by listening to them read at home a few times a week. Please jot a few notes in your child's reading record book telling us how much they have read, whether they enjoyed the story and if they struggled to sound out or remember tricky words. To support your child you could ask them a few questions (such as what will happen next, why an event happened or how a character feels) throughout the book to encourage comprehension
Library days are:
Class 7 - Wednesday 12 o'clock
Class 8 - Friday 12 o'clock
Please remember to return your library book as you will not be able to borrow another one.
Homework
Homework will be given out most Fridays. This will include spelling, reading and numeracy. Please complete your homework in your homework books and return to the appropriate teacher by Wednesday. Spelling tests will usually take place on a Friday and are available to practise interactively here.
P.E.
P.E. for Year 3 is on a Wednesday afternoon with Stoke City Community Coaches. Our P.E. kit consists of a red t-shirt, black shorts and black pumps although outdoor kit is also allowed in the winter. Please ensure all kit is named and placed in a named bag. All kit will be sent home at the end of every half term. Also, please remember to remove your child's earrings before they come to school on P.E. days.
